Arts Camp 2007
July
9 - 20
Arts Camp is one of MVAC's longest running
annual events. For two weeks, kids can explore all forms of art, enjoy the
company of others, get involved with the final production and see special
events under the supervision of a talented and trained staff of artists,
teachers and volunteers.
Campers attend "classes" including five art disciplines: 2-dimensional,
3-dimensional, music, dance and drama. They are placed in groups according
to birth date and grade level. The camp is almost completely hands on. The
children make visual art projects, and with the help of the staff, plan a
final production like a play or musical.
Scholarships are available for children whose families cannot afford tuition
costs.
Depending on the number of scholarship requests, some children may receive
half tuition or a percentage of tuition.
During camp, professional artists, musicians, dance groups, theater
companies and others showcase their talents for the kids. The
"professionals" offer some insight into the world of art.
If you would like to volunteer to help out with the 2007 camp, give the MVAC office a call at 582.1454.
